Bassel Abedi founded Nowistay in 2023 after 25 years in real estate investing and first-hand experience managing vacation rentals. Juggling guest messages at midnight, coordinating cleaning teams across time zones, and answering the same WiFi password question for the hundredth time — he built the platform he wished existed.
Before Nowistay, Bassel spent over two decades in real estate, from acquisition and renovation to portfolio scaling. When he transitioned properties to short-term rentals, the operational burden was immediate: guest communication alone consumed 15-20 hours per week. The tools available were either too basic (scheduled messages that couldn't answer real questions) or too expensive (full-service property management taking 20-25% of revenue).

Nowistay was born in 2023 in France from a simple observation: vacation rental hosts spend too much time answering the same guest questions over and over. Check-in times, WiFi passwords, parking instructions, local restaurant recommendations — these repetitive inquiries consume hours every day. We built an AI co-host that understands each property's unique details and responds to guests instantly, accurately, and in their own language. Today, Nowistay serves over 300 property managers across multiple countries, processing more than 10,000 guest messages daily.
Nowistay combines two core products: an AI Co-Host that automatically responds to guest messages on Airbnb and Booking.com 24/7 in over 90 languages, and a Digital Welcome Guide that hosts can customize for each property with check-in instructions, local recommendations, house rules, and an add-on shop for upselling services. Our AI detects emergencies like water leaks or lockouts and instantly alerts the host and team via WhatsApp or email. It also coordinates with cleaning teams for early check-in and late check-out requests — all autonomously.
